Are sessions online or in person?
All sessions are delivered online using an interactive whiteboard. We've delivered 1000's of hours of tutoring using this technology. It's secure and effective.

How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is required in advance to confirm the booking. Payments can be made via bank transfer, per session or in bulk, depending on your preference.

What if I need to cancel an unpcoming session?
If you cancel or need to reschedule within 24 hours of the booked session, we reserve the right to take full payment.
However, if a session can be reasonably rescheduled, then at our Tutor's discretion, payment will be deferred.
The important consideration is that we collectively commit to supporting your learner on a consistent basis. If sessions become almost ad hoc it may be more practical to find a different provider of tuition.

Can parents observe the sessions?
Absolutely. Many attend the introductory session and check in regularly for updates, that said, our observation is that many learners prefer a more independent setting once they're comfortable. It's for you to find the balance as you see fit.

When can I get feedback?
By design we add a discretionary +10 minute to our sessions for just this purpose. Please note, in front of the learner, ALL our feedback will have a positive spin. Should you want a more complete picture, we ask that you excuse your learner to allow for a private dialogue.

Do you set homework?
Homework can be an emotive topic! If you specifically request for your learner to have traditional homework we will provide it. Typically however, we might simply leave a few questions to finish off after the session or ask they review the lesson the following day or even just watch a supporting video on YouTube.

Do you work with learners with specific needs?
The simple answer is yes. Many of our Tutors have experience supporting learners with additional needs. The important point is ALL our sessions are bespoke, so understanding and adapting to different processing styles is just part of our standard offering.

What if my child is gifted or already ahead in maths?
Then in our experience, you will already understand it is fantastic and difficult in equal measure.
For such individuals, we have a TOP SET offering. On occasion, the fee for this service is slightly more than our standard rate (plus £5) - which simply reflects the greater time needed to plan and deliver a truly meaningful developmental programme.

How can I help my learner get the most from their tutoring sessions?
By far and away the most important 'assist' for your learner is for you to book tutor sessions weekly, preferably at the same time and do all that you can not to cancel them or rearrange them. Consistency, consistency, consistency!

What technology is required?
All you need is the Teams App, a free Miro account, a touchscreen tablet/laptop and access to the internet. There is no need for a camera.
